Public Notice for Annexation and Zoning of .516 Acre Tract on the Corner of 12th and Avenue F

Public Notice 

The City of Shallowater, Texas proposes to institute annexation proceedings to enlarge and extend the boundary limits of said city to include the following described territory, to wit:

A .516 acre tract of land out of Section 22, Block D-5, Lubbock County, Texas, being further described by metes and bounds as follows:

BEGINNING at a ½” iron rod with green cap marked RPLS 4460 (hereinafter referred to as Abacus Cap), set in the South line of an alley for the Northeast corner of this tract from which a found 1/2 “ iron pipe, the Southwest corner Lot 16, North Park Addition to the City of Shallowater as shown on the Plat recorded in Slide 145-A, Plat Cabinet 3, Lubbock County Plat records bears N 87° 58’58”W (Texas North Central Zone Bearing Basis) 140.22 feet and N 01°59’13” E, 15 feet and also from which a found iron rod with yellow cap the Northeast corner of the tract described in Lubbock County Clerk File Number 2006033041 bears S 87°58’58” E. 188.93 feet;

THENCE S 01°59’13” W, at 138.18 feet pass a set Abacus Cap on the North Right of Way Line of F.M. 1294, in all 149.90 feet to the Southeast corner of this tract;

THENCE N 88°01’27” W, 150 fee to the Southwest corner of this tract;

THENCE N 01°59’13” E, 150.01 feet to the Northwest corner of this tract;

THENCE S 87°58’58” E, at 9.78 feet pass a set Abacus Cap, continuing along the South line of an alley, in all 150.00 feet to the Place of Beginning and containing  0.516 acres including any Right of Way.

Public hearings will be held by and before the City Council of the City of Shallowater, Texas on the 20th day of July, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. in the Police Department Training Room, 607 Avenue G, Shallowater, Texas, for all persons interested in the above proposed annexation.  The proposed zoning classification for the 0.516 acre tract is CA- Commercial Apartment District.  At said time and place all such persons shall have the right to appear and be heard.  The public hearings for the annexation of the 0.516 acre tract will be held on July 20, 2020 and the zoning classification to CA-Commercial Apartment District will be held at the August 17, 2020 meeting and action will be taken on both items at the August 17, 2020 meeting.  If you have any questions please contact Amanda Cummings at 806-832-4521.
