Variance for a Special Exception and Tiny House to be Placed at 910 12th Street for April Hudson…: City of Shallowater Public Notice   The City of Shallowater would like to give all interested parties the right to appear and be heard at the council meeting on Tuesday, the 19th of November, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. in the Police Department Training Room, 607 Ave G, Shallowater, Texas on the issue of a special exception for April Hudson at 910 12th Street to place a 34’ X 16’ tiny house on the west side of Shallowater Flowers and Gifts. The special exception is for the tiny house to be used as a residence in a commercially zoned area.  There will be an 8’ fence around the tiny house and it will tie in to the existing water and sewer lines of the flower shop.  The shop and the tiny house cannot be sold separately.  The tiny house is restricted from being utilized as a residential rental property in the future as well. This variance will also allow for the size and height of the tiny house to be placed at the location described above.   This variance, if granted would allow them to place a 544 square tiny house to be used as a residence.  The plans meet all required setbacks.  Any questions or concerns may be directed to City Hall, 806-696-4300.  Thank you

City of Shallowater Public Notice

 

The City of Shallowater is accepting bids for property owned by the City of Shallowater.

The City of Shallowater will be accepting bids for unimproved land being located in the southwest quarter of Block D5, Section 26, Abstract 865, said property located along Avenue Q, south of the Water Treatment Plant, no further west than the fence line of the Water Treatment Plant to the west, along the railroad easement to the east back to Avenue Q, and subject to easements for underground utilities.  The property will be roughly marked by stakes, and the buyer will be responsible for obtaining a survey giving the exact legal description.  The City of Shallowater will be accepting bids for $0.50 per square foot. Bids must be submitted by February 12, 2021 to City Hall, 801 Avenue G, PO Box 246, Shallowater, Texas 79363 by 4:00pm.  Bids should be in the form of the Texas Real Estate Commission’s standard form for the sale of Unimproved Property Contract, Form 9-13, with Buyer paying all costs other than the standard Seller costs found in paragraph 13 of the Unimproved Property Contract.  Bidder must also include documentation showing it is financially capable of purchasing the property.  Buyer is purchasing the property “as-is.”  The buyer must close on the transaction within 60 days of the bid being accepted, unless an extension is agreed to in writing by the City of Shallowater.  Failure to timely close will result in the contract being cancelled.  The bids will be opened on February 16, 2021 at the City of Shallowater City Council Meeting.  The meeting will start at 7:00pm and is located in the Shallowater Police Annex, at 607 Avenue G, Shallowater, Texas.
