SUMMARY:Construction Project 10th and Ave Q
DESCRIPTION:City of Shallowater Notice \nConstruction will begin on the 700 feet of 10th Street closest to Avenue Q on Tuesday\, September 8\, 2020.  The city will also be improving the drainage along Avenue Q and the alleys from 10th Street to 7th Street.  The anticipated schedule for the street work is through the end of September.   \nThere will be no through traffic on 10th Street.  Residents will have access to their homes\, but will need to enter and leave on Avenue N instead of Avenue Q.  There will be through traffic both directions on Avenue Q\, but it will be slowed down.  \nBus traffic will need to be diverted to 9th Street.  When the construction begins on the approaches traffic will be limited to one lane on 7th\, 9th\, and 10th Streets.  \nThe city will be coordinating garbage pick up with South Plains Waste Services to ensure minimal disruption of services.   \nPlanned Phasing Schedule:  \nSeptember 9-11   –  Mix 10th Street and proof roll subgrade \nSeptember 9-14   –  1st half of the 7th and 9th Street approaches  \nSeptember 11-14 –  Mix in cement for cement stabilized base.   \nSeptember 15-16 –  Paving of 10th Street  \nSeptember 15-18 –  1st half of 10th Street approach \nSeptember 18-22 –  2nd half of 7th and 9th Street approaches  \nSeptember 23-25 –  2nd half of 10th Street approach \n*Phasing shifts will take place during the curing process and all valley gutters will be completed during the work in those particular areas.   \n  \nPlease be patient during the construction of this project.  This work is needed and the finished product will be worth it.   \n  \nIf you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact City Hall at 806-832-4521.  \n  \nPavecon Ltd. will be as accommodating as possible to the residents on 10th Street.  They will stop equipment and direct you into your driveways.  If you have a rear drive\, please use it.  If you have the ability to walk\, parking closer to the west end of the street would be helpful.  Pavecon has provided two contacts:  \nCory Sandefer\, Division Manager          806-412-9050 \nSean Moore\, Senior Project Manager  806-317-4529 \nThank you
